Asia faces significant barriers to long-term growth

It is not preordained that Asia will come to dominate the global economy during this century, the president of the Asian Development Bank, Haruhiko Kuroda, said last week.
Commenting on a report on Asian economies prepared by the bank for its annual meeting held in Hanoi, Kuroda said the region faces several daunting challenges and risks if it is to fulfil its potential.
